Anzlee, a longhaired red Dachshund who was very pregnant and Levi, a longhaired black and tan male Dachshund came to us together on May 1st, 2015. They both came from an unfortunate situation where they had been used for breeding. After we assessed Levi, he was placed in a foster home. After he was fully vetted, he was adopted a short time later. Anzlee stayed in our care while awaiting the birth of her puppies. On May 13th, 2015, just a short 13 days after her arrival at approximately 10:00 a.m. Anzlee gave birth to her first puppy, Johnny, a male longhaired Red Dapple Dachshund. Anzlee ended up having 4 puppies, 3 female (2 red and 1 double dapple) and 1 male (red dapple), all longhaired. Yesterday Johnny, the first puppy to be adopted, went to his forever home! They named him Chopper. His new family sent an update today that he got to go for his first walk, meet the neighbors and slept through the night last night! We wish Johnny and his new family the best <3 Anzlee and Penelope are still looking for their forever homes! If you are interested in adopting you can visit our website to find information on adopting and our adoption application: http://wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/adoption-process--application.html.

On a lighter note this afternoon we would like to announce that we are taking in 2 retired breeders this Saturday! As always we need fosters to help care for them and donations!
---If you are interested in fostering please fill out a foster application on our website wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/foster ---If you would like to make a donation you can do that as well on our website wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/donate ---We also have an Amazon Wishlist with supplies that we are low on and supplies needed for the Angels! http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/NGABLOGI20WD/ref=cm_wl_huc_title New Angels are coming this weekend and they need some help! 6 new Angels are being released this weekend! We are taking in 3 of them. When Angels (Puppy Mill Dogs) are released its always an exciting time for us. We really enjoy helping the angels because we are the first ones they see when they get out and they can finally breathe fresh air, feel the grass under their feet and see the sunshine. There is nothing that makes us happier than being able to experience this with them. But if we didn't have your support we could not do this. The things we need help with is: 1. Fosters. We are totally foster based, so without fosters we are not able to take in these dogs. But for these Angels we need people who are very patient and will help the Angels learn what being a dog is like. These dogs are NOT 'potty' trained, most hate being in a kennel, they are fearful and need time, patients and socialization. If you think you can help with this please apply to foster at http://wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/how-to-become-a-foster--application.html. 2. Donations for Vet Care. These Angels need everything, including vaccinations, antibiotics, grooming, spays (possible removal of mammary tumors), dentals (extractions) and special food. (There are always more things that come up then just these, but these are basic). Donate Here: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-save-the-angels/326859. 3. Supplies. We have a special Amazon Wish List for the 'Puppy Mill Angels'. Shop here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/XAIN5AJQUELB/ref=topnav_lists_2 If you are unfamiliar with Puppy Mill Angels you can read about them here: http://wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/blog/puppy-mills See Angels we have helped previously: http://wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/puppy-mill-rescues.html Thank you as always for your continued support in being able to help these Angels! Angels like Molly thank you!
Tomorrow 10/24 Lil' Rascals will be taking in 3 puppy mill dogs! But we need a little help, donations and fosters! To read more about Puppy Mills: http://wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/blog/puppy-mills Fosters: Puppy Mill Dog fosters are very special people. You need to understand where these dogs came from and the life they have lived. They may not come to you for days, may hide behind your couch or under your bed. They may go to the bathroom on the floor. They may not eat or drink for days. Don't be afraid, one day you will wake up and you will be their best friend. Being a foster to a puppy mill dog is one of the most rewarding things you can do. At first they may not understand but after having freedom for a few days they will realize that they are safe, that you are taking care of them and loving them. Since these dogs have never seen the sunlight, felt the rain or stepped foot on grass they will appreciate everything we do for them. If you are interested in being a foster to one of these mill dogs please fill out a foster application if you haven't already. http://wearelilrascalsrefuge.weebly.com/foster.html (We need foster for one 7 year old Maltipoo and one 7 year old Bichon) Donations: We need donations such as food, beds and pens for the dogs. They really like hiding in the 'deep dish' beds, especially if they are scared. The pens are also very useful for containing them to one area. We feed them Fromm Salmon food because it is good quality, it helps their skin and coats and is very healthy for them. Most also need soft food (Purina Mighty Dog) because they have only a few or no teeth or have bad infections. You can find those things on our Amazon Wishlist. *Purina Mighty Dog is also available at Wal Mart or Family Dollar http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/5711VM4AVXVZ/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_ws_58jStb02S66BK Monetary Donations: We need monetary donations to use for surgeries including spays/neuters, dentals, extractions, medication and any other medical needs they may have. http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-3-puppy-mill-dogs/252091 Any and all donations are ALWAYS appreciated! We post updates of the dogs on our Facebook Page daily!
